lyrics
Nature praises me. Of her I am born; her I follow. She knows me, and I know her. The light which is in her I
have beheld in her, just like a pear from a tree. The tree potentially contains the pear. If the Celestial Stars and
Nature agree, the tree first of all puts forth shoots in the month of March; then it thrusts out buds, and when
these open the flower appears, and so on in due order until in autumn the pear grows ripe.
It is found red in its first incarnation, and in it lie hid all the flowers
and colours of the minerals; the minerals which exist in the heart
and in the interiors of the earth.
The name, the composition, the dissolution;
for metals, gold; for man,
longevity and immortality;
the waters of night and of day,
of mass and of gravity;
the quantity of fire,
the Treasure of Treasures.
How far I’ve flown!
the lone inventor.
The elixir of life,
the quest eternal:
fearsome engine,
interlocking, clanging,
whirring, spiraling.
Weight and composition,
thickness of
organic reality
